The Guardian steel doors with Guardian locks are supplied with 5 keys. For sales Guardian locks may have 5 and 4 keys. That is why, when buying a door of another producer with Guardian lock, installed in it, you may receive 4 keys.

Besides, you may confirm the number of keys in the operation manual (p.2), which is attached to each lock.

Locks are divided into mortise and rim.

Mortise locks may be installed at the steel door as follows:
- installation from the face of the door
- installation at the chassis

In the case of installation from the face of the door, the lock is installed with a face plate. In the case of installation at the chassis, lock crossbars are coming out directly from the door leaf.

Code elements of the lever lock security mechanism, set of which is considered to be its code combination.

The first figure means a series, to which the lock belongs:

10 series  — 1
20 series  — 2
30 series  — 3
40 series  — 4
50 series  — 5

Second figure - type of the lock mechanism:

Fourth figure - the number of the lock model of the following series

“T” letter means complement with replaceable end/face plate.

Example: Guardian 21.12T lock means Guardian lever lock of 20 series with a latch an end plate.

The forceful method of the door break-in, when the jamb of the door case is forced out from the side of the door near the place, where a lock is installed, by the pry or bar, so that the lock bolts go out of the holes in the jamb.

What is Guardian replaceable code rotor

Replaceable structural unit of the lock, which determines code combination (secret). By means of replacement of code rotor, the recoding of Guardian 21.14, Guardian 25.14, Guardian 21.14D MAXIMUM, Guardian 25.14D MAXIMUM locks is performed.

Manipulation - method is based on manipulation (by special devices) of the levers with a purpose of its’ positioning in “right” sequence, which imitates the lock code.

For the performance of manipulation with the lock levers, criminals need two types of pick-locks. First pick-lock is called “strain” - as a rule, it is a key with one central tooth. It is meant for stress application at the bolt.

The second type - is actual pick-lock (in most cases, L-shaped metal pin), which is required for sorting and setting of the levers to the position of key initial code. After each half-turn combination is to be reset.

Structurally guaranteed impossibility of determination of lock code combination by the visual method, probing, measuring or any other means. For example, such type of protection is characteristic for Guardian 50 series locks, which do not allow to read lever code with a purpose of key cutting.

It is used in Guardian 30 and 50 series lever locks lower part is absent, so all debris and foreign matters, coming from the keyhole, can’t remain in the casing.

The opening of the lever  mechanism by means of self-composing (self-impressing) key, which presents a key blank, where instead of blanks there are moving pins, which number correspond to the number of lock levers.

Lever mechanism - security mechanism on the basis of set of flat plates (levers), containing security components (grooves, notches); its own key, interacting with the levers, provides discreet movement of the bolt according to the fixed positions.

Cylinder mechanism - a replaceable unit of cylinder mechanism , containing security mechanism on the basis of pins, disks or plates; provides discreet movement of the bolt.

Mortise  armor plate is fixed directly at the lock, and rim one is installed at the external door metal sheet.

The function of the lock, by means of which it is possible to connect additional locking devices (deviators) to the lock, which are activated from the major locking device of the lock.

Means of lock opening when lock construction is destroyed in full or in part.

Cylinders are divided into “key-key” (when the cylinder is opened by the key both from the outside and from the inside) and “key-latching device” (when there is a latching device from the inside of the cylinder, such latching device activates a mechanism). In the case of “key-latching device” installation, there is no need to install additional mortise bolt.

Different colors of the key holder allow determining the key series. For example, keys of 20 series have red holders.
